Axis Communications 0267-004 291 1U Video Server Rack The Axis Communications AXIS 291 rack module accommodates up to three AXIS Video Blade Servers, which can be the single or 4-port versions, but not the 6-port model. When populated with three 4-port Blades, this unit can be used to interface 12 analog CCTV cameras with the network. Blade Servers can be installed in any combination of three, and because of its support for hot swapping, Blades can also be removed or replaced without first powering down the unit. The Server Rack also doesn't need to be fully populated in order for it to work, but is fully functional even with only one or two Blades installed. A single Ethernet port connects the Server Rack to the network, with additional ports in the back of each slot, providing alarm I/O connection and remote PTZ communication for each attached camera. The Server Rack also provides power for each installed Blade. This Server Rack together with AXIS Blades provides the necessary migration from analog to digital technology.
